At Happycrew Childcare, every voice matters - spoken or signed.
We proudly use British Sign Language (BSL) across our setting to support all children in expressing themselves, building confidence, and forming strong connections - long before they have all the words.
Led by our amazing Level 6 BSL practitioner Hayley, every child and staff member learns to sign alongside spoken language. Hayley is passionate about making sure deaf and hearing-impaired children are never deprived of language - and that every child learns the power of inclusive communication.
BSL is a life skill - and a bridge to friendship.

SEND Consultant & Inclusion Advocate
Our SEND Consultant & Inclusion Advocate Laura is a qualified teacher with over 17 years of experience in education.
After beginning her career in London as an Assistant SENCO, she followed her passion for special educational needs and completed the NASENCO Award a decade ago, before returning to her roots in Hertfordshire.

With expertise across a wide spectrum of SEND - including dyslexia, autism, and PDA - Laura is deeply committed to the belief that special educational needs are a superpower, not a setback. She brings a compassionate, knowledgeable approach to every child and family she works with.

Laura oversees all SENCO documentation, leads EHCP meetings, and works closely with professionals to ensure each child receives the right support. She liaises directly with setting SENCOs and key persons, ensuring communication is thorough and up-to-date.
Outside of work, Laura is a proud mum of two and a big Harry Potter fan - always finding a little magic in the everyday.
