Hi Happycrew Families,

We’re so excited to be into the rhythm of autumn! This month our theme is “All About Me” - a wonderful way for children to celebrate who they are and what makes them unique.

We’ll be:

Talking about families and friendships
Learning about home life, environment and where we live
Exploring feelings and emotions and how to express them
Creating self-portraits and houses using the Autumnal finds from Forrest School

This helps the children build confidence, understand differences between each other and themselves, and develop their sense of belonging at home and Happycrew.

Here is our Autumn Hunt Checklist as a download - if you get outside let us know what treasures you find.

HC3 phonic of the month is the letter S. Please look out for communications from Debbie asking you to bring in items for us to share and learn with.

Book of the Autumn term is 'Owl Babies' - one of Mienna's favourite books.

Owl Babies written by Martin Waddell is a much-loved children’s story about three little owls - Sarah, Percy, and Bill - who wake up one night to find their mother gone. At first, they worry and huddle together in the dark, imagining all sorts of scary things. But as the story unfolds, the baby owls learn to comfort each other while they wait. In the end, their mother returns, reassuring them that she’ll always come back. With its gentle rhythm, beautiful illustrations by Patrick Benson, and comforting message, the book is a perfect bedtime story that speaks to children’s feelings of separation and safety.

Welcome back Ruby-Ellis!

A huge welcome home/back to Ruby-Ellis. We are super proud that she received her Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Qualification with distinction whilst she was away. To achieve this grade that only 20% of students receive she worked through in person observations, a talking exam as well as a 4,000 word assignment and presentation.

As always, thank you for being part of the Happycrew family. We’re so proud of everything your little ones are doing - and we love sharing the journey with you.
